Designing AMR Interventions at ARTH
HITM team highlights local context for LMU, enabling jointly developed, practical AMR strategies.

The LMU research team visited the Hirsch Institute of Tropical Medicine (HITM) team at the Asella Referral and Teaching Hospital (ARTH) campus, marking the third and final stop in a series of visits to collaborating study sites. This was the first face-to-face meeting for LMU and HITM teams and was a great opportunity for both teams to review study plans, exchange perspectives, and further strengthen collaboration as the project moves forward.

During the visit to ARTH, the team toured several wards that may potentially participate in the study. Observing the clinical environment and everyday hygiene practices helped inform discussions on how the study could be implemented in routine care and which interventions might be most feasible and beneficial. Concluding the site visits at ARTH provided valuable insights into the local setting and helped align the teams as preparations for the study continue.
